RedVector.com Courses Awarded Approval by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
January 18, 2008 - Tampa FL- RedVector.com, Inc., the leader in online education for the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industries, has been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) as a registered provider. RedVector has launched 15 hours of approved online courses on topics such as wetlands, fair housing, geographic information systems, and hazard mitigation, and plans to offer even more courses for AICP members in the future. As it stands, more than 16,000 members of the AICP can now benefit from the convenience of online education to fulfill their new certification maintenance requirements.

RedVector applied for AICP approval after learning of the AICP’s new certification maintenance requirement and being approached by AICP members who already use RedVector courses to fulfill continuing education (CE) requirements for other state licenses and/or certifications.

“It makes perfect sense for RedVector to open its courses to the planning community, which is tied very closely to the rest of the design and building industry” says RedVector Vice President of Content Development Victoria Zambito. “Our robust course library, which features over 950 online courses, already covers a variety of topics, stretching from the first phases of planning a community and its structures to design and construction to ongoing maintenance and regulations. We’ve been providing service to multiple facets of the A/E/C sector since 1999, so we have the expertise and experience it takes to support education on the full life-cycle of a community and its structures.”

RedVector’s education services extend beyond providing online courses for CE. In 2007, the company began offering live interactive webinars that allow clients to interact directly with an instructor in real-time. RedVector also offers a license management service called LicenseSure, which provides clients with a dedicated License Manager to prepare, renew, record and manage all of the licenses and/or organizational memberships a client holds so that they can devote their time to developing their core competencies. RedVector’s education and training services are available to both individuals and corporate clients.

AICP is the American Planning Association's professional institute, providing recognized leadership nationwide in the certification of professional planners, ethics, professional development, planning education, and the standards of planning practice. Starting January 1, 2008, all professional planners who are AICP members must earn a total of 32 Certification Maintenance (CM) credits (hours) every two years to maintain their AICP credential. Continuing education activities and events must be approved by APA. All education providers must register with APA/AICP to become CM providers.
