Iowa Engineer CE Requirements

Keeping your engineering license often means fulfilling continuing education requirements and staying up to speed on new technologies and developments. Nearly forty U.S. states require continuing education for engineers to renew licenses.

License Renewal Information for Iowa Engineers

30 PDH by December 31st, biennially based on initial date of licensure.

Maximum of 10 hours can be taken in online courses

Iowa PE PDH Approval

The board does not pre-approve courses.  The licensee is responsible for reporting their activities to the Board and should be ready to defend those activities if audited and challenged.

Continuing Education

At the time of application for license renewal, each licensee shall report, on a form provided by the board, the number of professional development hours achieved during the preceding biennium.
