In this course, we cover topics in network configuration and administration. We cover IP addressing such as IPv4 and IPv6, networking services, and network infrastructure. We also discuss port and protocols, and how to scan for open ports. Then, we talk about cables, cable connections, and testing the cables to make sure they are functional.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be more familiar with four different CompTIA objectives: given a scenario, configure servers to use IP addressing and network infrastructure services; configuring servers to use IP addressing and network infrastructure services; compare and contrast various ports and protocols and understand them; and, given a scenario, install cables and implement proper cable management procedures. The student will know how to configure IP addresses, utilize network services, and understand DHCP pools and DNS host records. The student will also be able to navigate through various ports and protocols and will know how to choose appropriate cables and test their functionality.
