be familiar with network types and communication protocols, which are found in CISSP objective 4.1
understand wired, wireless, and wide-area networks as well as software-defined networks
be familiar with OSI and TCP/IP Models along with multilayer and converged protocols
grasp of the concepts of cryptography in communications and how to secure in-transit communications on them
