Biography
David Kish earned his BSEE, MSEE, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. His master’s work focused on electric machines, while his Ph.D. research investigated non-sinusoidal signals in electric power (distribution) systems. David also graduated with an MSM (MBA) from Purdue’s Krannert Graduate School of Management. He currently works as a fire protection engineer in Purdue’s Department of Environmental Health and Public Safety. Dr. Kish is a member of the IEEE, IAEI, NSPE, and NFPA. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers and is a volunteer director for the Purdue Federal Credit Union.
In addition to his fire protection engineering experience, David has industrial experience with the Lincoln Electric Company in Cleveland, OH and the General Electric Company in Louisville, KY. At Purdue, he has experience as a utilities engineer and supervised the campus electrical shop. Dr. Kish taught courses in the electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, and building construction technology departments. He has participated as a speaker in many state IAEI meetings, and he served on advisory committees to the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission considering adoption of NFPA Standards 13 and 72 along with Building, Fire and Electrical codes.
