This course discusses how compartmentation in interior projects works as part of the passive fire protection system by using assemblies that resist the spread of fire or smoke. These assemblies include fire walls, fire barriers and partitions, horizontal assemblies, smoke barriers and partitions, opening protectives, and through-penetration protectives. Each type is explained in this course. A discussion of sustainable-related requirements is provided along with a fire- and smoke-resistance checklist.
