RedVector course author Kevin Dickens has 35+ years of building systems experience. Since 2000, Kevin has served as a Design Principal and Mission Critical subject matter expert at Jacobs.

At Jacobs, Kevin has worked on commercial data centers, mission-critical facilities for the intelligence community, DoD command and control centers and much more. These designs have stood the test of time for operability, low PUE and lowest Total Cost of Ownership while proving to be resilient under the most severe conditions and events. Kevin and his teammates at Jacobs pride themselves on helping clients find the right combination of energy efficiency, reliability, resiliency, sustainability, and flexibility while helping keep projects on schedule and budget.

Kevin earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri and began his career a drafter for Bill Coad at McClure Engineering in the 1980s. He is a LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C) and is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states. Kevin also contributes regularly to Engineered Systems Magazine.

Kevin values collaboration, mentoring, and integrated design. Most of all he seeks simplicity in his life and his designs and works to have fun on every project that comes along. His latest RedVector course series provides detailed training on ASHRAE Standards and Guidelines.
