This Course provides a summary of the significant changes, for chapters 1 and 2, of the 2014 National Electrical Code®. With every new edition of the NEC, some of the changes include new requirements to sections, while some of the changes include entirely new articles. Some changes are revisions to existing requirements while others are deletions to some existing requirements. To view these changes in detail, please take the “2014 NEC Changes” courses.
Although not required, it is recommended to have a copy of the 2014 NEC manual for reference, especially when reviewing information in large tables.
The National Electrical Code® is intended for electricians and subcontractors, electrical inspectors, electrical engineers, designers, and other qualified persons who understand electrical currents, theory, safety procedures, and electrical trade practices. The code does not serve as a teaching manual for untrained individuals.
Chapter 1 covers the changes and revisions to Articles 90, 100, and 110. While chapter 2 is primarily concerned with correctly sizing and protecting circuits. Every article in chapter 2 deals with different aspects of this purpose.
