It’s that time again. It doesn’t matter when your license was issued, the Electrical Contractors’ Licensing Board (ECLB) requires you to complete 11 hours of continuing education by August 31st to maintain your license. The courses must be pre-approved, and out of the 11 mandatory hours:
-1 hour must be related to Advanced Building Code
-1 hour must be related to Business Practice
-1 hour must be related to Laws & Rules
-6 hours must be related to Technical subjects (2 hours must be in False alarm prevention if you perform alarm work)
-1 hour must be related to Worker’s Compensation
-1 hour must be related to Workplace Safety
Sounds daunting? We understand. The good news is that all of them might be taken online without leaving the comfort of your home (or your pajamas.) The ECLB has approved the courses offered by RedVector, so meeting the requirements for an Electrical Contractor in Florida is as easy as it gets.
We even take a step further. You can customize your learning path and choose from the industry’s most comprehensive training library to make sure you study what is relevant to you. To ensure compliance with the board rules, you must be active in the online course for at least 50 minutes for each credit hour the course is worth (for example, if the course is worth 2 credit hours, you must spend 100 minutes of active participation in the course).
RedVector reports course completions to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) on Monday and Thursday of each week. Please remember to put your license number in your “license profile” before completion so we may report on a timely basis. If your number is not in the license profile at the time of completion, it cannot be reported.
