Chemical Engineering: Basics of Industrial Heat Transfer

Heat transfer is a fundamental component of any chemical engineering education. However, if it's been awhile since you've dealt with heat transfer, a quick refresher on the basics can be extremely helpful. This course is also helpful to anyone with little or no heat transfer education. You'll learn the basics of industrial heat transfer and the equipment involved.

This 2-hour interactive online course covers the basics of heat transfer theory, and gives an overview of some of the most common industrial heat transfer equipment and how each type of equipment works. This course includes an Excel file which the student may download.

There will be a test included at the end of this course.

At the conclusion of this course, you will know how to:

• Correctly analyze heat transfer opportunities
• Begin specification work on your next heat exchanger
• Calculate the amount of heat to be transferred in a given process
• Recognize what type of heat transfer equipment you may need
