Ultimately infrastructure projects are supported by native soils and rock strata. Professionals within the A/E/C industry need to be capable of identifying native soil and rock profiles for the development and construction of engineering projects. Having an understanding of the engineering characteristics and properties of native soils allows engineers, contractors, architects and planners to adequately select the most applicable foundation or support element for their projects. In this course, engineers, architects, planners, contractors and design professionals will learn how to identify the engineering properties and characteristics for application in the planning, design, construction and operations of infrastructure projects.
