This
3-hour online course begins with an introduction to the history and thermodynamics of the simple Rankine Cycle used for power generation. Steam properties and the calculation of cycle thermal efficiency are explained with examples from the power generation industry. Feed water heaters are then introduced to the cycle. Finally, a fully worked example of a five-heater cycle is explained. At the end of this course, you should be able to determine the cycle efficiency of a steam turbine with feed water heaters.
Due to the extensive math used in this course, the Body is presented in Word document format and must be downloaded.
There will be a test included at the end of each scenario.
