This 2-hour interactive online course provides guidance on the 'Pump Station Design Process' and on 'Site Planning and Hydrology'. It is the second in a series of courses on pumping stations. The course provides numerous checklists to aid the designer in assuring the design is complete and has considered all necessary design parameters. These checklists are also valuable in estimating the time necessary to do a pump station design and in determining the types of expertise that will be required to complete a design. While the course is written from the perspective of stormwater pumping stations, many of these concepts also apply to sewage pumping stations and potable water pumping stations.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end. This course also includes a downloadable PDF file. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The student is also directed to several other Red Vector.com courses written by other authors. One course is titled "Sewage Lift Station Design", written by Mr. William Rushing, PE. The other course is titled "Pump Suction Characteristics", written by Mr. John White, P.E. These two courses provide in-depth training in two areas of pumping station design. The text of the course is taken from the Federal Highway Administration's circular on Stormwater Pumping Stations.
