4-hour interactive online course discusses existing utility locations on design/construction projects. The course begins with a discussion of traditional utility mapping and then presents subsurface utility engineering techniques. The discussion details the steps taken by subsurface utility engineering consultants during the development of accurate underground utility maps for a project. Also, the use of test holes are explored to enable definitive determinations as to whether an existing utility is in conflict with the new construction or not. The course discusses the liability incurred by the subsurface utility engineering consultants and the liability relief provided to the client, the owner and the utility agency.
This course includes a multiple choice test at the end.
