Environmental security concepts regarding encryption, as well as facility and physical security, are important things every security professional should be familiar with. This course on applied security covers cryptographic types, lifecycle, and cryptanalysis concepts. We also discuss facility and physical security concerns from designs to hardening, to safe storage solutions. In this, we look at some of the most important security concepts and see how they apply in actual environments.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
• better understand CISSP objectives 3.09, 3.10 and 3.11
• better understand the different types of encryption and will be able to apply different types of cryptography within his/her security solutions
• be more familiar with key management, non-repudiation, and integrity as well as the Cryptographic Lifecycle and Cryptanalysis concepts. Furthermore, the student will be able to incorporate important site design and hardening principles that address important security concerns
• have a better understanding of the safety concerns and solutions regarding storage
