This course in our CISSP series covers software development programming applications and the security issues that they introduce. We discuss in depth security in software development lifecycles and the various security controls for development.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
  • detail security in the software development lifecycle (SDL) and the security controls for development, which map to CISSP objective 8.1 and 8.2
  • explain methodologies to utilize maturity models, operation and maintenance, change management, and the integration of product teams in relation to software development
  • describe the software environment security and the different types of software development and security in those environments, including code repositories, application programming interfaces, and source code weaknesses and vulnerabilities
  • explain how to utilize special tools called source code scanners and describe the impact they can have on the final product for secure development and implementation
