This course is designed to help you gain some valuable insights into the ways in which you can prevent network attacks, including IDS and IPS systems, utilizing encryption and VLANs, and so forth. We explore it from a conceptual perspective as well as a practical perspective in demonstrations of IDS of encryption, implementation, and VLAN tagging in Ethernet frames.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
  • utilize different tools and techniques which help prevent network attacks
  • perform the concepts found in CISSP objective 4.4
  • explain concepts regarding attack prevention methods such as IDS/IPS intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention systems along with encryption, VLAN security, and self testing
  • describe security in our environments, particularly intrusion monitoring, implementing secure communications, and understanding the functionality of VLANs from a security perspective
