A black-and-white drawing is often all you need to communicate a design idea, but black-and-white has limitations. Imagine trying to portray autumn foliage on a tree with a black-and-white drawing, or trying to sketch a field of wildflowers in shades of gray! Adding color to your drawings can help you define different materials and objects and also give life to the image. Sometimes you can create a drawing in black-and-white, present the idea, and add color to it at a later time. We’ll use some examples to show you that process and we’ll recommend the tools you can use to achieve your desired results.
