Biography
With over 22 years of experience in structural engineering and project management, Mr. Zhao is vice president and chief structural engineer of AESI, a full service civil/structural engineering firm in Hagerstown, Maryland.
He holds a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa, and a G.D. in Project Management from Université du Québec.
Mr. Zhao is the author of the popular college text book “Bridge Engineering” published by McGraw-Hill. He is the Past-President of the Maryland Chapter of Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), which is part of the ASCE.
His areas of expertise include steel, concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures for bridges and buildings, structural finite element analysis, design-build concept and management, and value engineering and life cycle cost analysis, risk management, team management and project decision models.
