Louisiana Engineer CE Requirements
Keeping your engineering license often means fulfilling continuing education requirements and staying up to speed on new technologies and developments. Nearly forty U.S. states require continuing education for engineers to renew licenses.
License Renewal Information for Louisiana Engineers
Licenses expiring in 2017 and 2018
30 Professional Development Hour (PDH). (1 PDH = 1 contact hour)
- 1 PDH must be in professional ethics
- 8 PDH must be in Codes (Life Safety Code, Building Codes and/or Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines
by every professional engineer licensee who designs buildings and/or building systems)
- License renewal occurs March 31 and September 30 biennially based upon the year of initial licensure.
NOTE: Licenses expiring in March 31st and September 30th in 2017 must complete an additional 15 PDHs by the end of 2017 for their renewal period ending in 2019.
Same applies to licenses expiring in March 31st and September 30th in 2018 for their renewal period ending in 2020.

Louisiana PE PDH Approval
The courses for Louisiana Engineers offered by RedVector have been reviewed to meet technical requirements for a Professional Engineer. The Louisiana Board does not have a formal pre-approval process for continuing education materials, but they do pre-approve sponsors.
