Biography
As a Principal of HOK Venue, David brings over 25 years of design experience, from convention, civic and commercial facilities to professional and collegiate sports venues. He has authored numerous articles on convention center design and technology in Facility Manager and Auditoria magazines. David has presented to gatherings of convention center managers at the International Convention Center Conference and IAAM, and on both convention and sports facilities at the International Economic Development Council conference. He is a member of the International Association of Exhibition Managers, as well as the American Institute of Architects and the Congress for the New Urbanism.
David's recent projects include the Peoria Civic Center Expansion, Grand River Center in Dubuque, Iowa, as well as studies for convention projects in Tampa, Miami, Oklahoma City, Fort Myers and Houston. He also led the design of the Thomas M. Ryan Convocation Center at the University of Rhode Island, PNC Park in Pittsburgh and Minute Maid Park in Houston.
He is the author of the book titled Architect's Essentials of Presentation Skills published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The book is the basis of a RedVector.com course series.
