This program covers issues with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) as it relates to mold growth. The program also discusses ways to prevent mold growth.
This program has 5 lessons with a test at the end of each lesson which must bypassed with a score of 70% or better to move on to the next lesson. The 5 lessons are:
Lesson 1: Introduction to ASHRAE 62.1-2010: Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality
Lesson 2: Common Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Measurements
Lesson 3: Diagnosing and Mitigating IAQ Problems Part I
Lesson 4: Diagnosing and Mitigating IAQ Problems Part II
Lesson 5: Preventing Mold Growth
By the end of the program, you will be able to:
- Describe the relationship between indoor air quality (e.g., rate of ventilation &air changes/hour) and ambient environmental conditions.
- Explain why the presence of mold or other harmful or noxious biological agents) can lead to an uncomfortable working environment.
- Describe how potential contaminant movement is tracked and pressure differentials identified.
- Identify pollutant pathways and observe air movement direction.
- Implement strategies for controlling indoor air problems.
- Judge proposed mitigation designs and their success.
- List practical choices in design and construction that minimize fungal invasion
- Describe what to do to control mold in those hidden spaces within the home

Dale E. Fage, PMP, CPE, CIAQP – Project Management Professional who holds a Masters in Education and Project Management. His extensive experience in Project & Portfolio Management, Training Management/Development, Organizational Training and Operations experience encompasses over three decades within various government and private industry. He has designed and implemented the core competency models for Project Management to include the project office, standards, process, training, assessment, audit, recovery and certification. Author of several registered seminars, courses and articles which cover a variety of professions and disciplines have been presented throughout the United States. His professional registrations and certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Plant Engineer (CPE), Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP), Training Director/Designer and Instructional Designer.
He currently facilitates, conducts assessment, and consults in the area of Project Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Consequence Management and Program Recovery. He has written several articles and manuals dealing with Project Management, Policies and Procedures relating to leadership, ethics, facilities management, survival, training and protocol for indoor air quality.
Mr. Fage also served his country for over 20 years and is a retired officer of the United States Army Special Forces. His responsibility included planning, training, operations, logistics and numerous project and programs throughout the world. Most recently, he directed, developed and wrote the training for the project management core competency model for a $1.2B Biomedical Organization while managing the start up of the project office. Prior, he led a training initiative as the Branch Chief in the development and implementation of curricula that trained 12,000 personnel annually for the US Government.
