A circuit is a closed path through which electric current can flow. If there is more than one load in a circuit, there are two fundamentally different ways in which they can be connected. Loads can be connected in series or in parallel. In a series circuit, there is only one path for the current to flow through. All loads are connected end to end, forming a single continuous loop. A parallel circuit has multiple paths, or branches, through which current can flow.
This course provides an overview of series circuits and how to calculate current, voltage, and resistance using Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law.
