Emergency showers and eyewash stations are critical safety equipment that can help minimize injury following exposure to hazardous laboratory materials. This course teaches laboratory personnel when and how to use emergency flushing equipment, applicable OSHA requirements, and the role of ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 in equipment selection, placement, and maintenance. Learners will also explore inspection requirements, common equipment deficiencies, proper emergency response procedures, and the importance of assisting exposed coworkers, reporting incidents, and obtaining appropriate medical follow-up.
