Imagine you are a restaurant owner, or an architect hired to design a restaurant. Among the thousands of decisions you must make are the decisions related to accessibility. Restaurants are required to be accessible under Title III of the 2010 ADA Standards. Not only will complying with these requirements prevent lawsuits related to accessibility, but you will also be providing a welcoming environment to the disability community. People with disabilities want to be able to go out to eat with family, friends, and co-workers, just like their non-disabled peers. Are you going to welcome them in, or leave them out in the cold?

1. Analyze an example restaurant layout for accessibility according to the 2010 ADA Standards.
2. Design a restaurant floorplan that complies with the 2010 ADA Standards.
3. List at least 3 components of a restaurant the need to be accessible.
4. Summarize the benefits of designing and/or operating a restaurant that is accessible to people with disabilities.
