If you are a painter, whether it be as a sub-contractor working for contractors or as a painting contractor serving the general public, you may have never had the chance to obtain a comprehensive overview of painting. This is not a subject frequently taught on a professional level in vocational schools or high school industrial arts courses. This 1-hour interactive online course discusses painting materials, tools, techniques, and methods, as applicable to the professional painter. This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end.
Course Objectives

After completing this course you should:

  • Have a good working knowledge of the types of paint and the appropriateness of their applications, the types of tools and their specific uses, various techniques of painting, important safety considerations, and some secrets of professional painters.
  • Be able to select the right paint for the right job, use the right tools, and save money and time by employing the right techniques.

Mr. Turner graduated from the University of Chattanooga with a B.A. in Psychology. He has worked in the construction industry since 1957 when he began working part-time with his father. Later, he started his own company, and was licensed as a Florida state certified residential contractor in 1987. He is also a Florida state certified roofing contractor. Both licenses are current.

Through the years, he has worked on construction projects in Florida, South Carolina, and in various parts of the Caribbean, including St. Croix and St. Thomas.

When Florida instituted the continuing education requirements for contractors, he became a provider, teaching continuing education courses. The courses have been well received by contractors.
