Driven piles are pre-manufactured fortifications used to ensure the strength of a structure''s base that can be used in different types of foundations. This 3-hour interactive online course is the fourth course in a series on pile design, covering static analysis of single driven piles. This course reviews bearing capacity analysis of single piles in cohesionless soils, in cohesive soils, in layered soils and on rock. Analysis of uplift capacity and lateral capacity is also reviewed. To successfully complete this course, it is necessary to have an understanding of the materials covered in earlier courses on driven piles, including Driven Piles - Subsurface Exploration and Testing, and Driven Piles - Introduction to Static Analysis. This course is based on guidance provided by the Federal Highway Administration.
