Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify standard sections and shapes of precast concrete members.
- Identify types of bracing used in precast concrete erection.
- Select the proper connection details for different precast members.
- Differentiate between erection and permanent connections.
- Differentiate between structural and non-structural grout.
- Identify correct erection tolerances.
SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT: Jeff Brim, BA, MS
Jeffrey Brim, BA, MS, has served as Laborer, Estimator, Manager, Vice President and President of construction firms. He gained hands-on experience in a family owned concrete construction business which continues into his adult career. He has served on several professional construction institutes and committees including the Prestressed Concrete Institute. He taught as an Adjutant Professor at Southwest Florida College and continues to expand his knowledge of current construction practices.
