0.25 hr. Online Course

Level: Intermediate

Item#: RVCT-490B

SME: Convergence Training

Traditional classroom teaching techniques are not as effective for adult learning because adults have unique characteristics and needs when compared to younger students. Adult learners have previous knowledge and experience, are self-directed and goal-oriented, and prefer task-oriented training activities. They benefit from informal and collaborative learning environments, constructive feedback, and opportunities for hands-on practice and reflection.

In order to be effective, trainers should respect and support adult learners, value their experience and opinions, and provide a clear understanding of how the training materials fit into the big picture. They should incorporate a variety of different learning styles and techniques, and work to facilitate the transfer of information from working memory to long-term memory.

This goal of this course is to help you understand how adults learn and how you can become a better trainer.
