This one-hour webinar will address the design and construction of libraries using the requirements of the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III Regulations Accessibility Guidelines - ADAAG, effective and mandatory for all such buildings and sites in the United States on and after the 15th of March 2012.

Course Objectives
  • Identify specific technical Chapters 3 through 10 and sub-sections of the 2010 ADA accessibility requirements that must be addressed during the design and construction of libraries
  • Coordinate both exterior site and interior elements in additions and renovations that must be designed using the requirements to provide accessibility to people with disabilities
  • List accessibility issues that must be addressed during design and construction that will protect the life safety and welfare of people with disabilities
  • Using "people first' language, better understand the accessibility / useability selection criteria that goes “above and beyond” the standard physical needs of people with disabilities

Fred and the ARS Team of caring professionals assist architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and professional engineers and their clients in the specialized area of "universal design" to meet the unique needs of people with disabilities.
