This is a live, repeat presentation of a webinar that was originally offered on 06/16/2021 and 06/07/2022. Attendees of the previously offered presentations, RV-W061621 and RV-W060722, will not receive CEU for attending the 10/10/2022 presentation.

Low-impact development (LID) is a green infrastructure approach that emphasizes conservation and use of on-site natural features for stormwater management and water quality protection. The approach can also enhance community character, improve aesthetics, and help create a strong eco-friendly vision for a community. This workshops looks at the basics that are required to make LID successful, and will present numerous case studies for how LID has been implemented.

Note: This is a live webinar delivered via GoToWebinar. Session instructions will be emailed to you 24-48 hours prior to the webinar and the morning of the webinar. If you have not received your instructions for any reason please call Client Support (1-866-546-1212) the day of the event. Webinars are live and interactive. Students will have the ability to directly interact with and ask questions of the presenter.
Course Objectives
  • Identify the basics of Low-impact Development (LID), including basic design and planning elements and context for successful implementation.
  • Summarize how LID integrates stormwater engineering with ecological design to create a more sustainable and attractive management approach while also protecting the health of the community.
  • Define the benefits of LID in terms of water quality, sedimentation reduction, pollution reduction, and enhanced character for community welfare.
  • Compare the maintenance requirements for LID to that of traditional stormwater management techniques to ensure a healthy natural environment.
