08/04/2022: LIVE INTERACTIVE WEBINAR, Structural Fire Resistance Design Fundamentals - Third Repeat Presentation, Thursday, August 4, 2022, 12pm-1pm Eastern

1 hr. Webinar

Level: Intermediate

Item#: RV-W080422

SME: Kevin LaMalva, P.E.

This is a live, repeat presentation of a webinar that was originally offered on 06/09/2022 and 07/07/2022 . Attendees of the previously offered presentation, RV-W060922 and RV-W070722, will not receive CEU for attending the 08/04/2022 presentation.

The frequency of uncontrolled fire in an engineered building is low, but the consequences can be severe. Accordingly, the protection of structures from fire is critical for the life safety of building occupants and emergency responders, as well as community resilience. Architects and engineers alike hold tremendous influence in the area of structural fire protection. Unfortunately, structural fire protection remains one of the most misunderstood aspects of building design. This webinar will examine the fundamentals of structural fire resistance design, and will cover relevant code requirements, testing standards, and proper specification of structural fire protection.

Note: This is a live webinar delivered via GoToWebinar. Session instructions will be emailed to you 24-48 hours prior to the webinar and the morning of the webinar. If you have not received your instructions for any reason please call Client Support (1-866-546-1212) the day of the event. Webinars are live and interactive. Students will have the ability to directly interact with and ask questions of the presenter.
Course Objectives
  • Understand the role of structural fire resistance within the built environment and how it safeguards the public welfare.
  • Learn how to derive the structural fire resistance requirements.
  • Understand the basis of structural fire resistance ratings.
  • Learn the basics of specifying structural fire resistance to protect the public safety.
