01/09/2024: LIVE INTERACTIVE WEBINAR, Geodesign for Sustainable Planning - Second Repeat Presentation, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 12pm-1pm Eastern

1 hr. Webinar

Level: Intermediate

Item#: RV-W010924

SME: Anonymous

This is a live, repeat presentation of a webinar that was originally offered on 08/03/2023. Attendees of the previously offered presentation, RV-W080323, will not receive CEU for attending the 01/09/2024 presentation.

Geodesign provides a design framework and supporting technology for professionals to leverage geographic information, resulting in designs that more closely follow natural systems. This approach advocates the use of six models to describe the overall planning (geodesign) process that gives us the power to use GIS as a framework for doing geodesign in digital geographic space.

Note: This is a live webinar delivered via GoToWebinar. Session instructions will be emailed to you 24-48 hours prior to the webinar and the morning of the webinar. If you have not received your instructions for any reason please call Client Support (1-866-546-1212) the day of the event. Webinars are live and interactive. Students will have the ability to directly interact with and ask questions of the presenter.

Course Objectives
At the end of this webinar you will be able to:
  • Identify the basics of the geodesign process, including history, context, and process.
  • Explore how geodesign integrates "smart data" when building a design-making framework that keeps the public safe.
  • Recall how geodesign can protect natural resources, maintain environmental systems, reducing flooding, and minimize climate change impacts for the welfare of the community.
  • Discuss processes for multidisciplinary geodesign approaches to environmental planning to adjust and adapt to our surroundings.
