Wind: What is it, what does it do? How does one prepare for it?

ASCE has prepared a new method (copyrighted in 2002, updated in 2006) of designing for wind loads on structures, including roofs, walls, windows, and just about everything that makes up structures. This method has been adopted (and is continuing to be adopted) in building codes across the nation. This 2-hour online course walks you through the ASCE manual and helps make a very, very complex system much easier to understand and more useful.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, you will understand:

  • The first portion of the code and the structures that are enclosed
  • Partially open structures
  • The ASCE 7!

This course includes a multiple choice test at the end of each section.
