Technology advances with the passage of time. The existence of portable and digital processors provides proof of this advancement in technology. There is a rising demand for enhanced equipment such as geo-pressure control and administration, contributing to the need for an additional degree of drilling machinery monitoring or observing, mud circulation pressure, volume, and flow ratio sensors. This course discusses drilling data monitoring and drilling data analysis, the types of recorders used to monitor, rotary system management and circulating system management, and properties of mud.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
  • Describe the drilling operation that includes drilling data sensors and gathering or gain system
  • Describe mud system quantity or volume, flow and pressure control observing systems
  • Explain drilling data analysis, demonstrating and management systems
  • Explain rig coordination and broadband transmission assistance
  • Describe the hoisting system assessment, depth and ratio of penetrating
  • Describe types of recorders such as wire-line recorders and hydrostatic recorders which can measure automated drilling lines, hook load and weight on bit
  • Describe the different systems of measurement such as rotary and circulating
  • Describe the properties of mud weight density by using formula, mud pit volume, linearity, sensitivity, completeness, mud temperature, mud pressure and mud conductivity
  • Describe the usage of drilling data and types of communication that includes services, analysis and logistics
SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT: Noman Farooq
Noman Farooq received a B.S degree in Petroleum Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore (2003) and M.S degree in Petroleum Production from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore (2005). From 2005 to 2007, he served as a Process Control Engineer in National Refinery Limited (NRL). In 2007, he joined Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). From 2007 to present, he is working as a Research & Development Engineer in Weatherford. Mr. Noman Farooq is authorized instructor of Oil & Gas Professional Courses in Oil & Gas Development Company Limited. He has written research papers in National Oil Field Magazine of Pakistan regarding pressure sensing of Oil & Gas industry & Log Interpretation of Well Logging. He has attended many training workshops & seminars regarding Oil & Gas industry in different Middle East Countries. He has oil field work experience in IRAQ and EGYPT also.
