This 1-hour interactive online course is intended to teach a methodology that will enable you to make project job meetings more productive. It will facilitate the discovery and solution of potential problems early in the project. It will keep all interested parties informed and involved in the solution of these potential problems. This method will work well for most planning, design and construction projects. Although developed for architectural construction projects, the system can be modified as needed to manage architectural, engineering and other design and implementation projects.

This course uses actual construction project meeting agendas and notes to illustrate many points. The overriding theme of this course is that all the theory in the world is no good if the people in the field who are implementing the design are not working toward a solution that will meet the user's real needs, and comply with the designer's intent.

This course is for anyone who plans, manages or attends regular periodic meetings aimed at moving a specific project forward to completion. A general assumption is that in this world of cell phones, PDAs and email, there still is no perfect substitute for face-to-face meetings to coordinate certain matters and solve certain problems.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course you will:

  • Have a tool to use human nature to motivate members of the project team to produce their best efforts to make the project successful.
  • Learn many of the ideas that have been used to improve this method over the time that it has been in use.
  • Be equipped with a tool to help you take on a key role in your project organization.
  • Be able to explain the benefits of the methodology to your managers and peers so that they will be open to try it.
