This course provides two hours of training for Landscape Architects. The Florida Statutes and Regulations regulating landscape architecture are set forth below with annotations elaborating on the concepts contained therein. Multiple-choice questions throughout the course encourage you to review and retain the material. It is crucial you understand the rules governing your profession. The profession of Landscape Architecture in Florida is governed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). The DBPR has the authority to make rules, administer licensing examinations, set fees and oversee disciplinary proceedings. In this course we will review Chapter 481 of the Florida Statutes and Subtitle 61G10 of the Florida Administrative Code. It is in these two places where the rules and regulations governing the profession of Landscape Architecture can be found. We will start with the Florida Statutes.
Course Objectives

  • Recognize and explain the licensing requirements for the practice of Landscape Architecture
  • Discuss the types of violations that can lead to sanctions and indicate the range of possible penalties
  • Describe the manner in which work done as a Landscape Architect must be signed and sealed

Mr. Lee is a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in the State of Florida, ISA Certified Arborist, and a LEED AP. He holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree and a Master of Science degree from the University of Florida. He is a passionate and driven design professional with a solid understanding of site and master planning, landscape architecture, arboriculture, and construction. 

Mr. Lee has over ten years of experience in the field of landscape architecture and more than seven years field experience with landscape construction while working in the public and private sectors throughout Florida, the southeast United States, and the Caribbean. This experience aids in bringing a project from concept generation through implementation, as well as being an effective coordinator of landscape architecture, engineering, architecture, and construction.
 
Mr. Lee currently serves as the NAVFAC SE Landscape Architect and Subject Matter Expert on all landscape architecture and arboriculture related issues within the southeast United States Area of Operation. He also provides landscape architectural services and Subject Matter Expert technical solutions to the NAVFAC SE Environmental and Planning Business Lines.
