This two hour online course is part one in a two part series designed to introduce the principles for resolving indoor air quality problems. Part I focuses on the procedures for diagnosing IAQ problems, while part II focuses on mitigating IAQ problems. Part one includes:
  • Initial Walkthrough and Collecting Additional Information

  • Using the Occupant Data and Collecting Information about the HVAC System

  • Collecting Information about Pollutant Pathways and Driving forces

  • Sampling Air for Contaminants and Indicators


This course includes a multiple choice quiz at the end of each section.

After completing this course, you will be able to:
  • Collect information to help diagnose IAQ problems
  • Define the complaint area.
  • Recognize symptom and timing patterns.
  • Identify pollutant pathways and observe air movement direction.
