As part of its plan to eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace, the city of Chicago requires employers to provide annual bystander intervention training for employees. Course Objectives
The course discusses how barriers like diffusion of responsibility, fear of embarrassment, or fear of retaliation can stop people from intervening. It explains Chicago’s definitions of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct, and it also includes information on how employees can report misconduct. The course teaches participants how to intervene in a safe, productive, and active way to create a workplace that’s free from harassment and discrimination
