Calculating Offsets is designed to familiarize participants with methods for calculating dimensions and angles for piping offsets. After completing this course, participants should be able to use right triangles and basic formulas to calculate fitting angles, complementary angles, and Offset, Run, and Travel dimensions for various offsets.
Course Objectives
  • Identify each part of a right triangle.
  • Use a right triangle and formulas to calculate the Offset, Run, and Travel for 45 degree offsets.
  • Use a right triangle and formulas to calculate the Offset, Run, and Travel for 22 1/2 degree offsets.
  • Calculate unknown angles from known dimensions.

    His responsibilities have included engineering design, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and power plant utilities management.
     
    Areas of expertise include HVAC design, commissioning and qualification, construction administration, and energy cost savings initiatives.
     
    Jim’s credentials include being registered as a Professional Engineer and the Certified Energy Manager and Auditor certifications.
     
    Jim is married and lives in Middletown, OH and has 4 married children.
