covers the major changes to Article 392 - Article 800 contained in the 2008 National Electrical Code®. It is suitable for anyone exposed to the NEC® at any level. The course addresses additional Code revisions that apply to all types of occupancies: residential, commercial, and industrial. This course contains Code-wide changes and an analysis of approximately 15 important Code changes in the 2008 NEC®, specifically looking at requirements for cable trays, switchboards and panels, appliances, class locations, commercial garages, agricultural buildings, mobile homes, marinas, swimming pools, emergency systems, communication circuits and more. Recognize the allowable ampacities of cables in cable trays where combinations of multiconductor and single-conductor cables are used
Explain the Code change regarding field marking of a switchboard or panelboard
Discuss the new requirement for ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI) protection on electric drinking fountains for personnel safety
Identify wiring methods and types of installation allowed in Class I and Class II locations
Discuss Code updates for area classifications, and electrical wiring and equipment requirements for garages, agricultural buildings, mobile and manufactured homes, marinas, boatyards and swimming pools
Explain changes to requirements for automatic transfer switches (ATS) and communications circuits
