Interior designers’ experience the world in a strongly visual way, they are often deeply affected by messages received by their other senses as well. Perhaps the most critical of these is the sense of hearing. Sound in a well-designed space reinforces the function of the space and supports the occupants’ experience. A poorly designed acoustic environment hinders both the function and the enjoyment of the space, and it can even damage the health of the user

In this course we will take a look at the effect that sound can have on the environment. In this course, we will explore the world of sound and the effect it has on building materials and the people occupying the space. We will look at the designers roles and how to deal with Interior Acoustics Design Issues.
