In this course we will improve your recognition and comprehension of fire alarm systems and components when you experience them in your work and on-site observations. We have included many photographs to help you visualize the explanations.
Course Objectives

  • List types of fire alarm circuiting
  • Identify some fire alarm symbols utilized on contract documents

Mr. Henry holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from LeTourneau University, 1973. He served in the Georgia Air National Guard as an electronics technician from 1969 through 1975. He has been a registered professional engineer in Georgia, U.S.A. since 1983, and a LEED Approved Professional since 2009.
 
From 1973 through 2009, Mr. Henry was a full-time electrical engineer in the building construction and renovation industry. He has been known for his thorough designs including well-documented specifications and drawings. His careful construction management of the electrical portion of projects and his careful "inspections" helped achieve the quest of facility owners: "buildings that work".
 
Types of facilities have included residences, houses of worship, commercial, high-rise, hospital, water, wastewater, educational, government, and military.
 
Electrical systems have included indoor power distribution, outdoor power distribution, standby generators, generator controls, indoor lighting and control, outdoor area lighting and control, fire alarm systems, telephone and data systems, and sound systems.
 
Mr. Henry acquired project management skills as he participated in medium to small consulting engineering firms. He has brought over 35 years of practical and successful experience to his courses.
