The handling and storage of materials used in the construction trade involves diverse operations such as hoisting heavy steel bars with a crane, driving a truck loaded with concrete blocks, manually carrying bags, and stacking drums, lumber or loose bricks. When any of these things are done the wrong way, serious injuries and extensive costs can result. Avoid pitfalls by reading about OSHA’s rules in this module.
OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of their job.
