This course is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of heat transfer and the basic operation of a typical heat exchanger. After completing this course, participants should be able to describe the effects of a temperature difference on heat transfer and describe the three modes of heat transfer. They should also be able to describe the basic operation of a shell and tube heat exchanger and identify problems that can occur in a heat exchanger.
