Site Engineering for Landscape Architects: Grading
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
· Differentiate between environmental and functional restraints when designing a grading scheme.
· Identify design problems related to linear and planar elements.
· Demonstrate the various uses of the slope formula.
· Describe how storm runoff can be diverted around and away from structures.
· Distinguish the three ways in which a terrace can be graded.
· Summarize the three phases of the grading process.
· Recognize the elements of a grading plan.
