This course is designed to familiarize participants with basic concepts associated with troubleshooting a problem in a process system. After completing this course, participants should be able to explain what troubleshooting is and how it can be carried out as a systematic, logical procedure. They should also be able to explain how to apply the major steps of a basic troubleshooting procedure to a problem in a process.
Define the term "troubleshooting."
Identify and describe the main steps involved in troubleshooting.
Identify various sources of information that can be used for troubleshooting.
Explain how the following process of elimination methods are applied in troubleshooting: input/output testing, bracketing, the serial method, and the half-splitting method.
Describe a basic wastewater treatment process.
Describe how to troubleshoot a problem in a wastewater treatment process.
