Biography
Roxanne Button is the founder and principal of Design Synergies, a sustainable design and consulting firm located in Upstate New York. She is a licensed architect in New York and a LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C; Homes) who has been involved in sustainable design in both the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years. She holds undergraduate degrees in Urban/Economic Geography and Environmental Design Studies, as well as a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. Roxanne’s diverse experience includes green building design and consulting, scriptwriting for a green renovation TV series, and managing LEED projects. Roxanne is a former board member for the New York Upstate Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, and a current member of the Board Advisory Panel. Roxanne has presented numerous seminars on LEED and green building. She led the team that created Public Day for the American Solar Energy Conference in 2009 and co-hosted a monthly Green Drinks networking event. As a member of the national education reviewers Team for USGBC, Roxanne contributed to the development of educational programs for fellow LEED Accredited Professionals, including the annual Greenbuild conference. She is also a GPRO-certified trainer, conducting workshops for construction professionals on green and LEED projects.
