Biography
John is an accomplished senior environmental
health and safety practitioner with over 20 years of experience in both the
public and private sectors. Over his career, he has held senior leadership
roles in a number of industries both in Canada and internationally including
construction, leisure and hospitality,
retail, education, municipalities, utilities, manufacturing, transportation, and aviation. He has also
worked as a government OHS inspector in the U.K. Currently, he holds a senior
executive role with a large utility company in Canada.
McMahon holds a Master of Business Administration
from the University of Glasgow, an honors degree in environmental health and a
diploma in OHS from the University of Strathclyde, a diploma in advanced food
safety management and HACCP from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, and a
diploma in environmental health. He is also a chartered member of the Institute
of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and a Canadian Registered Safety
Professional (CRSP).
